Allan Palacios Chan Brings In The Holiday Spirit With Newest Single

Philippine-born American singer, Allan Palacios Chan, released a new song that will surely bring an uprising to his career. ‘Coventry Carol/What Child is This,’  is a beautiful holiday single that is guaranteed to bring out the spirit of what this time of the year is about. This song was a beautiful twist on traditional Christmas music.

Allan Palacios Chan’s voice is outstanding and has quite the power behind it. His range is incredible. The song has a very intimate and forceful background history, spreading awareness of some world issues. This song was released at the end of November and has already performed wonderfully. He couldn’t have released this song at a better time than when he did.

‘Coventry Carol/What Child is This,’ blends centuries of musical legacy with contemporary charm, merging a rich tapestry of chant, baroque, pop, and operatic influences. (What a diversity!)  His newest single is a perfect mix of the narrative of ‘Coventry Carol,’ echoing the ancient horrors of King Herod’s era, with the tender embrace of ‘What Child is This,’ harmonizing the timeless Greensleeves melody.

When asked about the true inspiration of ‘’Coventry Carol/What Child is This’, Chan says:

“We chose this music because of the contrast it provides… ‘Coventry Carol’ is practically secular, speaking on the horrors of the time of Judea when King Herod ordered the massacre of the innocents…it is a lullaby sung to the murdered children.  Then comes the gentleness of ‘What Child is This’, over the age-old Greensleeves ditty to create a sort of medley.  I love the contrast this music provides and did not expect the subject matter to become so horrifyingly relevant as the world seemed to be set on fire during the recording process.”

Allan Palacios Chan had an unexpected encounter during his 2022 philanthropic tour in the Philippines. This show was to help raise money for indigenous students at the Notre Dame school in Mindanao. Renen de Guia of Ovation Productions recognized Chan’s wonderful, unique talent, which led him down the music industry road where he encountered multiple industry luminaries such as LA-based agent Gina Orr [NSYNC] and acclaimed arranger and pianist Leonardo de Bernardini (‘Leo Z’), who previously worked with the likes of Andrea Bocelli, Josh Groban, and David Archuleta.

Chan used a mixture of antique and new instruments (such as a piano, harp flute, and other orchestra-style instruments) and voice to create an exotic sound and melody to release to the world.

Chan reflects, “With this music and video, I aimed to create something truly beautiful, mysterious, and enchanting—what I feel when I think of Christmas.”

He and his team have already shot the music video for his newest release. The location is beautiful! The upcoming music video was shot against the backdrop of The Mosaic Mansion in the Hollywood Hills by visionary director Landon Donoho.  It serves as a visual symphony. They wanted to captivate the essence of the song’s historical significance mixed with a modern narrative. Chan has already gathered ideas and wants for an upcoming crossover album. (Yes, you heard it here first, there WILL be more of Chan!) His plans for this album are going to be iconic.  It’ll showcase Chan’s dexterity in reimagining classic hits such as Billy Joel’s, ‘And So It Goes’ and ‘Zombie’ by The Cranberries.  (Such icons!)

We, the team at Fangirls World Tour, can not wait to see what Chan creates in the future. If it is anything like his newest single, you don’t want to miss out!
