This raw and honest single by Kayla Grace was first posted on her tiktok back in december. It received over 24 thousand likes in just a few weeks and people flooded the comments telling her to release it to streaming.
If youโve been following Kayla Grace since then, you would have seen the whole process documented. Through changing lyrics, adding a chorus, and eventually releasing the bedroom demo to Spotify!
Kayla reflected on her life growing up saying, โI donโt know if Iโm the only one who had the worst times of my life through the ages of 15 and 16, but I’ve kinda done a song about it.โ
Itโs all about growing up and still feeling like youโre in the same place youโve always been. In this instance Kayla Grace reflects on her behavior and relates it back to the way she felt when she was fifteen.
The guitar opens up the song as she sings, โWell I lose the will to live a little when it gets cold, I get this sinking feeling when Iโm taking off my clothes, obsessed with Matty Heely since fifteen years old, so iโm listening to โRobbers,โ cry into my pillow.โ
I think we can all relate to some parts of that.
I can say with confidence that you will find a little piece of yourself in her music. Maybe itโs this single or maybe itโs her previous release, โnobody loves me,โ where the first line she admits โI think my therapist hates me.โ
Kayla Grace is definetly an artist to watch this year, make sure to follow her on socials @kaylagracemusic!
